Data engineer (senior) - Data Platforms & Services

We are searching for a DATA ENGINEER (SENIOR)

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw and you will join a team being part of Data Platforms & Services department. The domain is in charge of running and maintaining BI related platforms.

In the position as Senior Data Engineer, you will work closely with team of several Polish and Danish engineers, Product Owners and Development Managers. As a team member you will deliver components of Business Intelligence Foundation and backend solutions for all BEC’s customers. You will also have a chance to take part in projects driven by specific stakeholders from Danish banks in areas GDPR, Anti-Money Laundering, Core Banking, Credit Risk and others.

At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to eight days per month. Your direct manager will be Michał Zientak.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

• Participation in BI projects as a Database Developer / Data Engineer
• Development of foundation components of data warehouse
• Taking part in modernization of data warehouse into Data Lakehouse and Data Marketplace
• Analysis of business requirements together with our Product Owner and stakeholders
• Design and implement database tools for BI developers
• Data modeling
• Scripts development for work and tests automation
• Documenting and testing

To succeed you will have:

• Strong database knowledge, both in programming and modelling
• Advanced SQL knowledge
• Experience in data warehouse technologies
• Experience with Informatica Power Center or similar ETL tool
• Experience in performance optimization of ETL processes and stored procedures
• Experience in software development
• Programming in Python
• Open minded – ready to discuss different aspects and points of view
• Team player willing to work and cooperate within team and with stakeholders
• Good work organization
• You are structured and understand the need to document our deliveries
• You have analytical mind, can see the big picture without overlooking important details.
• You are initiative-taking, self-driven and result orientated
• You can communicate and work across borders.
• Ready to learn and grow professionally and personally
